Connect India is Bournemouth University’s Hub of Practice for the Indian subcontinent. As the university’s global outreach arm for the region, we work to promote greater interaction and collaboration between BU, and other academic institutions, employers, NGOs and think tanks.
With Connect India, we bring together a community of researchers, educators, practitioners and students, both at BU and in India, to focus on interdisciplinary collaborations.
By bringing together people, by linking minds and communities, we hope to engender positive changes, both in ourselves and in the areas we work in.
And at the heart of what we do lies emphasis on media—specifically on media innovations, which will be a primary driver to engender change.
CI envisions to deliver high-impact knowledge co-creation and internationalisation projects with academic partners and employers in the Indian subcontinent, with a particular emphasis on media and media innovations. Specifically:
- Promote knowledge exchange between BU and partners in the subcontinent through collaborative research and practice projects
- Facilitate innovative educational experiences and mobility programmes for talent development, skills training, and cultural exposure
- Enhance graduate employability and internationality by engaging with businesses, government and non-government organisations, and cultural institutions
Through our work, CI aims to inspire change—in ourselves, and in our partners and other stakeholders whose shared interests we are co-researching.
Here we consider change in the broadest possible way—from innovative media practices and management principles to enhancing public awareness of pressing issues or marginalised peoples—and are open to collaborative possibilities that contribute to tangible improvements in work life, media representations and social standings.
